La sicurezza sul posto di lavoro, l’antimilitarismo, il dialogo con gli altri portuali del Mediterraneo. Il sogno di dare forma a un mondo diverso, e il prezzo che comporta.

The strikes against the “weapons ship” and the search for a union more attentive to the needs of the present. Perla Sardella (Jesi, 1991) lavora con immagini fisse e in movimento, e con diversi formati che comprendono il documentario, la fotografia, l’audio e le video-installazioni. I suoi lavori si muovono a cavallo tra sperimentazione e osservazione. Tra i suoi lavori: Please Rewind (2017), video-installazione e raccolta di gif animate d’archivio; Prendere la parola (2019), mediometraggio documentario, primo premio della sezione Prospettive al Filmmaker Festival di Milano; Le grand viveur (2020), cortometraggio sperimentale creato con film di famiglia, in concorso al festival Visions Du Réel; Le Ersilie (2022), episodio del podcast “Ersilia” commissionato dal Museo MACTE di Termoli; Prima Persona Plurale (2023), opera audio/performance creata in collaborazione con il Piccolo Museo del Diario nell’ambito del Premio Lucia 2022; Le prime volte (2024), cortometraggio co-diretto con Giulia Cosentino Vive e lavora a Genova, dove fa anche l’insegnante di scuola superiore.

Perla Sardella (Jesi, 1991) works with still and moving images, using various formats that include documentary, photography, audio, and video installations. Her works move between experimentation and observation. Among her works: Please Rewind (2017), a video installation and collection of animated archival GIFs; Prendere la parola (2019), a documentary medium-length film and winner of the first prize in the Prospettive section at the Filmmaker Festival in Milan; Le grand viveur (2020), an experimental short film created with family footage, in competition at Visions du Réel; Le Ersilie (2022), an episode of the podcast “Ersilia” commissioned by the MACTE Museum of Termoli; Prima Persona Plurale (2023), an audio/performance piece created in collaboration with the Piccolo Museo del Diario as part of the Premio Lucia 2022; Le prime volte (2024), a short film co-directed with Giulia Cosentino. She lives and works in Genoa, where she also teaches at a high school.

Attraverso filmati esclusivi e interviste intime, The Encampments offre uno sguardo potente su uno dei movimenti studenteschi più significativi della storia moderna. Il film cattura la passione e i rischi affrontati dagli studenti che chiedono giustizia e si interroga sul motivo per cui le università abbiano risposto con arresti di massa invece che con il dialogo. Rivela i tentativi di sopprimere l’attivismo ed esplora il vero costo e il potere dei movimenti dal basso.
