Denise Umaschi
Denise Umaschi is a director and editor from Buenos Aires. Her shortfilm Spotless (2024) was selected at more than fifty international festivals and exhibitions.
As an editor, her credits include more than a dozen award-winning short films featured at Berlinale, BAFICI, NYICFF, Cinema Jove, and Mar del Plata Film Festival.
Her work combines a playful sensibility with precise visual composition, finding emotional depth in everyday absurdities.
She is currently developing her first feature film, River Tsunami, a catastrophe comedy set entirely inside a museum.Denise Umaschi è una regista e montatrice di Buenos Aires. Il suo cortometraggio *Spotless* (2024) è stato selezionato in oltre cinquanta festival e rassegne internazionali.
Come montatrice, ha al suo attivo più di una dozzina di cortometraggi pluripremiati presentati alla Berlinale, al BAFICI, al NYICFF, al Cinema Jove e al Festival del Cinema di Mar del Plata.
Il suo lavoro unisce una sensibilità giocosa a una composizione visiva precisa, trovando profondità emotiva nelle assurdità quotidiane.
Attualmente sta sviluppando il suo primo lungometraggio, “River Tsunami”, una commedia catastrofica ambientata interamente all’interno di un museo.

An Orange From Jaffa

Mohammed has returned to Palestine for a brief visit, with a temporary residence permit and the promise of a peaceful future. Farouk, on the other hand, is a taxi driver condemned to live in one of the most dangerous places in the world. When their lives intersect, stark differences emerge, creating tensions that are difficult to manage.Mohammed è tornato in Palestina per una breve visita, con una carta di soggiorno temporanea e la promessa di un futuro tranquillo. Farouk, invece, è un tassista condannato a vivere in uno dei luoghi più pericolosi al mondo. Quando le loro vite si incrociano, emergono differenze nette, creando tensioni difficili da gestire.

Mohammed Almughanni is a Palestinian filmmaker from Gaza, celebrated for his evocative storytelling that blends personal and political narratives. His latest short film, 'An Orange from Jaffa', premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2024, winning the prestigious International Grand Prix. Almughanni’s films often explore the emotional landscapes of individuals living under occupation, drawing on his own experiences and reflecting the broader Palestinian struggle.Nato a Gaza nel 1994, Mohammed Almughanni è un regista palestinese famoso per la sua regia evocativa che mescola narrazioni personali e politiche. Il suo ultimo cortometraggio, “An Orange from Jaffa”, è stato presentato in anteprima al Festival internazionale del cortometraggio di Clermont-Ferrand nel 2024, vincendo il prestigioso Grand Prix internazionale. I film di Almughanni esplorano spesso i paesaggi emotivi degli individui che vivono sotto l'occupazione, attingendo alle sue esperienze personali e riflettendo più in generale la lotta del popolo palestinese.

A smart and ambitious boy who can't stand injustice; in the raffle game that comes to the neighborhood grocery store, he chases after the big prizes that the grocer doesn't want to lose because he keeps the raffle going.Un ragazzo intelligente e ambizioso, che non sopporta le ingiustizie; nel gioco della riffa arrivato al negozio di alimentari del quartiere, rincorre i premi più grandi che il droghiere non vuole perdere, perché vuole mantenere viva la riffa.
Muhammet Emin Altunkaynak
Muhammet Emin Altunkaynak was born in Turkey. He works in the fields of cinema and education. He received his film education at the Film Academy organised by TRT and IMA. His short films have been screened at various national and international festivals and have won numerous awards. The short film Çekiliş, produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was selected for over 75 festivals, including the 54th Giffoni Film Festival, the 49th Open Air Filmfest Weiterstadt, the 47th LUCAS International Film Festival, the 38th Cinekid Festival, and the 24th Dokufest, and won 15 awards. While continuing its festival journey, Çekiliş is working on bringing to life his short film project titled Tavukkarası, which he has been developing for a year. Development, family relationships, and factors influencing behaviour are some of the topics he focuses on.Muhammet Emin Altunkaynak è nato in Turchia. Lavora nei campi del cinema e dell’educazione. Ha ricevuto la sua formazione cinematografica alla Film Academy organizzata da TRT e IMA. I suoi cortometraggi sono stati proiettati in numerosi festival nazionali e internazionali, ottenendo molti riconoscimenti. Il cortometraggio Çekiliş, prodotto con il sostegno del Ministero della Cultura e del Turismo, è stato selezionato in oltre 75 festival, tra cui il 54° Giffoni Film Festival, il 49° Open Air Filmfest Weiterstadt, il 47° LUCAS International Film Festival, il 38° Cinekid Festival e il 24° Dokufest, vincendo 15 premi.
