Victory

A group of workers is fired from the explosives factory. While some of them prepare to strike, unconvinced and depressed protagonist VELID (29) wanders around the small town. He gets intercepted by two young filmmakers, a local and a Westerner, who are shooting a film about Bosnia and Herzegovina. The directors are fascinated by Velid’s face and and Velid agrees to participate in their film. This develops in a painful way.Un gruppo di operai viene licenziato dalla fabbrica di esplosivi. Mentre alcuni di loro si preparano a scioperare, il protagonista VELID (29), scettico e demoralizzato, vaga per la cittadina. Viene intercettato da due giovani filmmaker, uno locale e uno occidentale, che stanno girando un film sulla Bosnia ed Erzegovina. I registi sono affascinati dal volto di Velid e lui accetta di partecipare al loro film. La situazione però prende una piega dolorosa.
Zulfikar Filandra
lfikar Filandra (1989) is a filmmaker, producer and curator working between Sarajevo and Karlsruhe. Zulfikar is also part of the selection team of Sarajevo Film Festival and the curator of Bosnia’s most recent contemporary art prize: Next Generation Media Art Award. One strain of his filmmaking is narrative, one strain is based on experimental cinema, archives, poor images and found footage.Zulfikar Filandra (1989) è un filmmaker, produttore e curatore che lavora tra Sarajevo e Karlsruhe. Fa inoltre parte del team di selezione del Sarajevo Film Festival ed è il curatore del più recente premio bosniaco di arte contemporanea: il Next Generation Media Art Award. Una parte del suo lavoro cinematografico è narrativa, mentre un’altra si basa sul cinema sperimentale, sugli archivi, sulle poor images e sul found footage.

Nel bel mezzo dei festeggiamenti, trova un bambino smarrito e decide di aiutarlo.
Leonardo Martinelli
Leonardo Martinelli is a filmmaker from Rio de Janeiro. His film Fantasma Neon won the Golden Leopard for Best International Short Film at the Locarno Film Festival. His shorts have been selected at festivals worldwide, including Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, San Sebastián, BFI London, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, Montreal, Biarritz, Toulouse and others. He also holds a Master's degree in Communication from PUC-Rio and is currently developing his first feature film, which was selected for the Locarno Residency and the Hubert Bals Fund.Leonardo Martinelli è un regista di Rio de Janeiro. Il suo “Fantasma Neo”* ha vinto il Leopardo d’Oro come miglior cortometraggio internazionale al Festival del cinema di Locarno 2021. I suoi cortometraggi sono stati selezionati in festival di tutto il mondo, tra cui Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, San Sebastián, BFI London, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, Montréal, Biarritz, Tolosa e molti altri. Ha inoltre conseguito un master in Comunicazione presso la PUC-Rio e sta attualmente sviluppando il suo primo lungometraggio, selezionato per la Locarno Residency e per l’Hubert Bals Fund.

Burul

Burul, a student at a rural high school, is interested in wrestling. Her coach, however, won’t let her use the boys’ gym, forcing her to train at home by herself. Burul’s father also doesn’t believe wrestling is suitable for girls, so he forbids her from training. Meanwhile, a young man from a nearby village, after numerous failed attempts to court her, decides to kidnap Burul so he can marry her.Una studentessa delle scuole superiori rurali, Burul, è interessata al wrestling. L’allenatore, però, non le permette di frequentare la palestra maschile, costringendola ad allenarsi a casa da sola. Anche il padre di Burul non crede che il wrestling sia adatto alle ragazze perciò le proibisce di allenarsi. Intanto, un ragazzo di un villaggio vicino, dopo numerosi tentativi di approccio falliti, decide di rapire Burul per sposarla.
Adilet Karzhoev
Adilet Karzhoev was born in 1988 in Kyrgyzstan. In 2011, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the Kyrgyz-Turkish University of Manas, Department of Radio, Television, and Film. In 2019, he earned a master’s degree from the American University in Central Asia. Adilet has produced numerous documentaries and fiction films, many of which have won awards at major international film festivals. Adilet currently teaches in the Department of Television, Film, and Visual Arts at the American University in Central Asia.Adilet Karzhoev nasce nel 1988 in Kirghizistan. Nel 2011 consegue la laurea presso l'Università Kirghiso-Turca di Manas, dipartimento di Radio, TV e Cinema. Nel 2019 consegue un Master presso l’American University in Asia centrale. Adilet produce numerosi documentari e film di finzione, spesso vincitori di importanti festival cinematografici internazionali. Adilet attualmente insegna al dipartimento di TV, cinema e arti visive presso l’American University in Asia centrale.

Anna’s Freezer

After a successful premiere night, Anna comes home alone. At first, everything seems fine, but her evening takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that her freezer is completely frozen. As she attempts to defrost it, various everyday issues begin to pile up, prompting her to confront herself.Dopo una serata di prima teatrale di grande successo, Anna torna a casa da sola. All’inizio tutto sembra andare per il meglio, ma la sua serata prende una piega inaspettata quando scopre che il suo congelatore è completamente ghiacciato. Mentre cerca di sbrinarlo, vari problemi quotidiani cominciano ad accumularsi, spingendola a fare i conti con se stessa.
Jetske Lieber
Jetske Lieber (1999, Nijmegen) is a film director and writer living in Amsterdam. During their studies at the Netherlands Film Academy they discovered a love for capturing the small things in everyday life. Jetske makes films of close personal relevance, with social dialogue between the lines.
Jetske’s graduation film January (2024) had its international première at the Poitiers Film Festival, where it won the Prix Manifest. In addition, January was selected for various film festivals including Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and Premiers Plans. Their latest film Anna’s Freezer (2025) premiered in fall 2025.Jetske Lieber (1999, Nimega) è una regista e sceneggiatrice che vive ad Amsterdam. Durante gli studi alla Netherlands Film Academy ha scoperto la passione per la rappresentazione dei piccoli dettagli della vita quotidiana. Jetske realizza film di forte rilevanza personale, in cui tra le righe emerge un dialogo sociale.
Il film di laurea di Jetske, *January* (2024), ha avuto la sua prima internazionale al Festival del Cinema di Poitiers, dove ha vinto il Prix Manifest. Inoltre, *January* è stato selezionato per vari festival cinematografici, tra cui il Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Karlovy Vary e Premiers Plans. Il suo ultimo film, *Anna’s Freezer* (2025), ha avuto la sua premiere nell’autunno del 2025.
